Japan Transportation Tickets

Purchase JR Pass here for unlimited travel on most JR trains and bullet trains: Open Klook Purchase individual train tickets here: Open Klook Rent a car in Japan here: Open Klook You can pay for a train ticket with cash at any station ticket machine. Credit cards are not accepted at the regular ticket vending machines. We recommend that the first thing you do upon landing is going to an ATM and taking out cash to use for your transportation, and getting an IC card that you can load with funds and instantly tap to pay instead of purchasing a ticket each time. You will typically want to pay and reserve for Shinkansen (bullet train) tickets ahead of time, which can typically be reserved 30 days in advance.
